Wow! Apparently the Lord is wanting us to experience a variety of weather here in Arkansas! We nearly drowned most of this week due to all the rain. It was hot, hot, hot this morning and afternoon after a Bea-u-tiful day yesterday. We kept the windows open until it was a little over 90 degrees in the house and sweat was running down my back. I gave up and turned on the air conditioner for about 4 hours. Now the breeze is blowing and it is lovely again.
This is a picture of a yard in town. I wish I had flowerbeds like theirs! I can grow weeds and wild flowers very well - what the goats don't eat! Oscar just ate my maple tree for the second year in a row. Stan fixed his wagon - he now has to contend with a hot fence to get out!
I made a couple of batts this morning, but I wasn't very happy with how they turned out. Ever had one of those days that nothing really worked like it was supposed to? So I quit and cleaned the kitchen (sort of - always heard that sexy ladies have messy kitchens!) and made a couple of loaves of bread. I have been knitting away on a travelling scarf project from the Ravelry Church thread on Ravelry, and trying desperately to get the "Shipwreck" shawl done. I decided that it needed SOME of the 5000 beads it called for in the pattern, so progress has slowed considerably. I want to finish it and take it on vacation with me the first week-end in June. I would post pics of the work in progress, but it is black and all the pictures I take are impossible to tell heads or tails of.
School is out in one week! School is out in one week! School is out in one week!
Can you tell I am excited?
