Been busy, busy, busy!!! Mom and I just sent off our contributions to the Phat Fiber box for April! Can't wait to see how they do. Here are some pictures of a couple:
Spring break weather was so nasty that not much got accomplished around the farm. But it has been beautiful this week, isn't that the way it goes? We did get 6 of the sheep sheared - more work than we thought it would be. And soooo much harder. We also got the little chickens moved into their new home which is OUTSIDE, not in my kitchen any more. We added a new little burro to keep Isabella company. His name is officially Augustus, Gus for short. In fact, I am listening to Isabella talk to the donkey across the valley right now.
Happy Easter everyone! One of my best Easter memories was when I was about 10 years old. I woke up and lookedat the clock and saw it was 6:00, so I woke my younger brother up and we went to the living room and started chowing down on candy. My bleary eyed mother came in the room and asked what in the world we were doing - it was 12:30 in the morning!! It was dark (of course it was dark at that time of night!) in my room, and one hand was up and one was down and chocolate was waiting. What was a kid to do?
But let's not forget the real meaning behind Easter. Christ willingly gave his life for me. And you. And your neighbor. And that co-worker you can't stand. And the slow checker at the grocery store. And the guy who cut you off in traffic. In His eyes, we are all worth giving His life for. And without Jesus being raised from the dead on the third day, we would be just following the teachings of another good teacher who gave his life for what he believed in. Remember the reason behind Easter is not the candy, the ham dinner or the new clothes. It is a celebration of Christ's victory over death, which paved the way for our salvation!
